  1. Alright, about a week ago, I posted to see if there would be interest in a StarBound server. I'm happy to announce (for myself, the community, and fellow StarBound fans) I've bought a 16-slot server for 3 months, hosted out of NY, NY, USA. The IP is at the following: (The port is needed on the end or it will connect you to an entirely different server). I will be spending time there through the following months, and I hope other players will enjoy it as much as I do. Have fun guys! I want to see how this server does before committing anything more to it. If it remains popular enough, I will extend the subscription. BASIC RULES: * Be courteous to your fellow adventurers (Derogatory language and inappropriate communication [Character name or otherwise] WILL NOT be tolerated.) --- Inappropriate consists of: Excessive cursing, sexual terms, etc. * Bombs and "Launcher" weapons of any kind are NOT allowed near planet spawn-points, and player-built structures. (Anti-Griefing) THIS LIST WILL BE UPDATED AS MORE RULES ARE ADDRESSED. With that out of the way, Get going and enjoy your adventure! Invite your friends if they want to join in! The more the merrier!
  2. Sometime within the last week or so, the dedicated multiplayer servers have become available for StarBound. As much as I enjoy the game with my own friends, I don't see myself justifying buying a server that may only be used 50% of the time it is launched. My point in short: - I'm looking into buying a 12-20 slot server (depending on the response to the poll) - The server will begin Vanilla (No mods). This might be changed, still considering. - It will be password protected to help keep random players / potential griefers from getting into the server. I understand the servers are generally left unlocked, but anyone who can find this thread, will be able to locate the password. This is to see if there is any public interest beyond hosting it for my own friends. If you do vote "No", I would be interested in knowing why. Please do not vote "No" because you do not have the game though. EDIT: I like the part where someone decided to vote no without explaining it anyway. Shit happens.
  3. Hi everyone! I find that as a gamer, one of the best things you can do as a community is share your experiences. Whether that be online play, giving tips, backseat driving or a forum post (like this :3), and that's what I feel I don't do enough of, so here goes - my review on the Monster Hunter series! My favourite co-op game has got to be any Monster Hunter game, which is also an RPG... But whatever. If you like giant swords, badass looking armour made from the hide and scale you carved from the devistating force of the dragon or thunder leviathan you slew earlier on or you just love to see pixilated Wii-res booty shaking around, then Monster Hunter is the game for you. Monster Hunter is all about you being the hero, fighting off the lava beast that's ravaging the lands and picking up some sweet ass looking gear along the way. Pros: -buttload of monsters to battle -tons of armour sets and weapon -armour/weapons sets ready for tweaking for every and any need -fast paced 1-4 player hunting -more content online (I put a figure in before but that only accounts for Tri) -awesome cinimatics -amazing artwork and design -(most)monsters have their own unique theme -good difficulty scale -buffs and debuff system -special abilities for each weapon -subspecies of bosses (upgraded) Cons: -greedy Capcom =(, a lot of new releases don't get localized until a much later date or not at all -somewhat unstable online play -some quests are very tedious -no new updates to older versions eg Tri -not an "open world" game, sense of exploration, but it's no Elder Scrolls. -some drops are very rare and require a bit of farming Overall, Monster Hunter will always be one of my favourite game series, next to Mass Effect. If you own a Wii or PSP I suggest you pick up a copy of one of the games. It's a ton of fun offline and even more when you're with friends or strangers. For those of you already familiar with the Monster Hunter series and know about Frontier. Don't bother unless you want to change your computer's time zone, location, subscribe monthly. Yes Frontier's amazing but imho it's WAAAY to much work. Setting up and actually playing lol. It's a whole different game.
  4. Howdy everypony! I got Left 4 Dead (and L4D2) recently and want to start playing online. I'd love to play with you all! Anyone who's played with me on the TF2 server knows I'm not awesome at FPS but I figure a Ponyville zombie massacre will be fun regardless. So, anyone up for a campaign or versus sometime? My Steam ID is Adamantiumspork. See you all online!
