  1. Figured this could use its own thread so people can throw all their map hate in one place. Lotta maps are either just entirely unbalanced for gamplay or just have some exploits that can completely ruin gameplay, list the ones you think fit that role here. Extra explanation to why it's bad/broken would probably be better. For my suggestions I would say vsh_beach_xsp1b1 (already pointed out by Karla), vsh_megaman6_b5d, vsh_evil_pumpkin_farm_b6new2, vsh_chemical_v1, arena_suijin_rc2, vsh_volcanic_b2, vsh_lumberyard_event, vsh_apg_v2, vsh_west_fix, vsh_dunes_b2, and arena_offblast_final. No point in explaning Beach again, the thread is here. Megaman is just entirely too big of a map, and generally half or so of each level won't be used at all by players, and either a player or hale will get lost if not in the main fighting area of the map. If I remember correctly, music and some sounds will not work on the map either. If we could possibly get the older version of the map that we used to have, it would be much better. The reason we didn't have it was I think because of an issue with hales falling off the map that has been fixed since. Evil Pumpkin Farm is high in the list of my most hated maps along with Beach. To start, the map is extremely un-optimized. If you look into the middle of the map, you may have your fps be cut in half, though this of course depends on each individual's PC, but I've heard of it from a lot of different people, including myself. The other main issue is the entire basement of the map. It's a maze to begin with, and it makes the map unnecessarily larger then it has to be. You can easily camp down there and not see the hale for an entire game, and just end up stalemating the rounds. Have had it happen plenty of times. Chemical has a big issue with props being entirely invisible depending on your settings. It makes it just annoying to get stuck on invisible props. Examples: 1, 2. Not to mention I found a sentry spot where the sentry can actually shoot through a platform you can set up on, making it next to impossible to get killed while there unless you get raged. Suijin is a pretty map, it looks nice. That's the only reason it ever get's voted for. It's full of problems, the first one being the terrible optimization it has. The second issue with it is the few broken sentry spots it has. The more obvious ones being on the main islands at the edge of the map, then the smaller, farther islands, and last but not least, the end of the cliff. Volcanic isn't entirely broken when it comes to actual gameplay, but the main issue it has is the amount of crashes that happen. Snowdrop will almost guarantee to crash 75% of the server every time, and even bosses like Applejack can cause crashes, albeit rare. Lumberyard Event isn't at all broken, or unbalanced, we just don't need 2 Lumberyards. Either remove the normal one, or this one, because I don't like playing on the same map twice in a row. Apg is probably the only map I put on here purely because of it just being poor for gameplay. The second the game starts, you can instantly super jump towards red spawn as the hale, and unless you are a scout, soldier, or possibly demo, you can't do much to get out before the hale is already slaughtering you and your team. Then there's the fact it's just another sniper-friendly map that isn't fun to play hale on. Also this sentry spot is pretty cheap too. Goes to show that converting a trade map into a vsh map isn't really a great idea. I actually enjoy West Fix, it's a good map, I don't really want it actually removed, I would prefer a "fix" (ironic, isn't it?). Though, there will always be the infamous exploit of the map. Dunes, again, is a map that's not too bad, but has an extremely broken spot for heavies and engineers. That's about it. Offblast has a fairly unknown exploit to leave the map. Not going to add a screenshot here, as most people don't know it exists. Also a very small map that's just not designed well for vsh at all. Not a hugely broken map, just not a very good one. When it come's to maps that just have a few broken spots, what ever happened to this? This would probably fix a lot of spots that are problematic, and wouldn't have to remove the decent maps that just have a few issues with them.
  2. Just going to dump all of my complaints about the current status of the VSP servers here because it's to a point where I could care less what happens with anything. The biggest thing is probably boss and weapon balance. People literally complain about bosses and weapons constantly, things that are so obviously overpowered (Rainbow Dash) or unnecessary (Laugh crit on Pinkie/Surprise), things get brought up on here, but nothing is ever done. The community is almost completely ignored when it comes to balance, and it's the most frustrating thing giving feedback that doesn't even matter. I don't think hardly any of my suggestions I've made have ever been implemented, even if there were a lot of players agreeing with it, it's just ignored. What's the point of trying? Another current thing regarding weapons is the fact that the new Gun Mettle skins and Spy's watches still aren't fixed. All the skins still work as TF2 default, and the Invis Watch gives a speed boost (won't block a hit though), and the Dead Ringer is plain out useless. The update came out July 2nd, it's been almost a month and a half, seriously, why is it not fixed? Last thing about server maintenance would probably be regarding new bosses getting added. I mean, I'm still personally against it, but how long has FnaP been done for? From what I remember, it's been over 6 MONTHS, and it's not added? It's not like the boss was denied to getting added, it just ignored. I just don't understand how it hasn't been added yet, or AT LEAST given a REASON as to why it hasn't been. Which reminds me, why are we always in the dark when it comes to things? Can we at least get an estimate of when things will get changed, or at least a response regarding something that we deem unbalanced? I don't see a point in trying to get things changed, because nothing is ever touched. This could also relate to the PF2 players wanting a vanilla server. People are getting impatient and don't think it's going to happen, but we aren't getting any responses regarding it. Sure, people have lives, they're busy, everyone is. But, if the people who can actually change things don't have time, why not give others the ability to do so? There are plenty of willing people with the time that would love to balance weapons and bosses, or at least get things added to the server. I just hate trying when I know nothing will actually get done. Another personal thing that really bothers me is the terrible performance of the servers. Seems to have awful issues with connection (getting hit from 10 ft away from people that have <50 ping), and my FPS is terrible on there. Please, remove the necessary particle effects on weapons and from rages. It' just causes so much frame issues. tl;dr Nothing gets changed, the community is completely ignored, and RIP FPS. Edit: forgot to mention spellbooks. When you have so many complaints about it, constantly, so many people hate them, you'd think that they would get changed or plain out removed.
  3. Well, if you haven't heard yet, or live under a rock, the official Fallout 4 Trailer was released on Youtube, giving a glimpse into the masterpiece of a series revival. The reason I am making this thread is to keep up on news, opinions about the new games announced release itself, and to just have some nice talk about the games themselves. I mean, how do you guys feel about the new game, and what are you anxious/excited for?
  4. Oh god this thread makes me nervous. I said to myself long ago that I'd never touch the original bosses. Now people like here: http://forum.ponyville.net/topic/7185-versus-ponyville-boss-suggestions-mechanics-music-etc/?p=129056 are starting to cry "revamp the world!" effectively. One of the main reasons I originally had no desire to touch existing bosses is the politics involved. While everything I submit is up for review, revamping an existing boss brings down much closer scrutiny which I'm frankly not good at handling...heh. It's probably while I waited until I had enough notches on my belt to seriously consider it. (that and I had no ideas for Vinyl except the beam until recently) So instead of Boss Suggestions getting flooded in a disorganized way, what if we concentrated such efforts here? This thread is only for changes that would require coding to fix. Balance suggestions belong in Boss Suggestions. I made this thread more for my own benefit, to keep things potentially pertaining to me in one tidy place. To try to be fair, I'm just going to list the bosses with entirely public mechanics and their technical (to the best of my knowledge) information. Stuff with mechanics coded by Friagram (Stallione, R-Dash, Flutterbat, Trixie, Woona, Twily+Shiny, Pinkamena) and myself will not be listed. I'll leave my opinions on each in a reply, to minimize bias. The List Rarity - 3 seconds of faux invisibility, disguise RELOAD ability. Sentry stun. Super jump. source: fanon extension of her similarity to the Spy, originally in terms of fashionRainbow Dash - Matrix attack with no game speed change, lasts 7? seconds. Sentry stun. Super jump. Passive: Triple jump, reduced damage but higher swing speed with no critical hits, and 60HUPS faster than other bosses. source: canon interpretation of her speed/fighting ability in generalTwilight Sparkle - Uber (10s?), Stun (3-4s?), Teleport (2s stun), and 1 instance of Chain Lightning which seems to max out around 160 base damage for the first hit, damage reduction factor of maybe 0.7 per target, sentry stun.   5. With this post getting reciprocated as quickly as it did, I decided to spend a few hours searching through my collection of public maps to get the rest of them. This is mostly consisting of maps whose names start with the letters N-Z, but it also contains maps I only came across in the last six months. Like before, I'm excluding the GWF/TFF exclusive maps. Some should probably be limited to admins only, due to the potential for problems. Others just have qualities that are new to us and they may be undesirable.vsh_last_pushv1_2: It's more or less okay. It's orange so it's ugly, but the layout and lighting better than orange murder. Only thing foreign to us is the fact BLU spawn has a func_breakable that the hale needs to break open.vsh_merida_v2: If the snipers don't annihilate you, the large surface area will likely cause many stalemates.vsh_sfac_v2: Sometimes, the doors can damage/kill players. Otherwise the map has a nice layout.vsh_towertop_final: This map is wildly popular, but it has random events. Floods arena, one plays "five hundred miles" for no reason. After 27 rounds I'm pretty sure that the infamous "crashing moon" event has been removed from this version, so it's probably fine.vsh_toro_b1_xmas: Has the awkward attic in the pagoda that BLU spawns in, same as with vsh_horyuji_v1. It's difficult to get out of, and it's not nobuild. Also, there's missing textures.vsh_castlewars_v8: No exploits or anything, just seems unfinished in a couple ways...development textures and the water doesn't extend far enough down. Aside from that, it's been playtested with no serious problems.arena_pool_day: It's very small. Smaller than that WoW arena map.arena_ratssaxy: Ugly as sin, but surprisingly fun layout.vsh_nowhere_a4: It's a good map, but it needs to be tested with dovashy a few times before releasing. Since it doesn't instakill all classes and has water it may have the same problems as vsh_island. (unlikely, though, because it does do around 275 damage a tick)vsh_pyramidtime: Also recommend this one be made admin-only. I'm concerned the many torches mixed with the rainbow spotlight plugin will severely lag the server.vsh_summercamp_v3_70: Has a couple difficult spots for the hale to reach/possible stuck for teleport hales. Recommend limiting to admin testing.There's a few honorable mentions not in the zip, I'm aware they exist but I've rejected them for exploits:vsh_garbage_day_fix1 - Has a crouch spot that a heavy/medic could camp in which produces too much knockback for the hale to reach.vsh_mini_city_v3 - I honestly love this map. Unfortunately, there's a tall building which you can build on and then destroy the tall building, making it unreachable for many hales.vsh_north_mountain_pb - Any player who can get to where BLU spawns cannot be reached via super jump.vsh_riverwood_v2 - Has an exploitastic engineer spot beneath the little wooden port.

We are always looking for subs and if you are a sub but want the main role, you can always MGE the person to get it from them. But a team leader has to be present for this.   7. Lately I haven't been able to sleep. The end of my first semester is coming by quick, and since I enrolled in my school almost a month late, I'm starting to feel the pressure. I need to finish Geometry and English (unfinished assignments are graded as a 0), and P.E. requires me to hand in logs, which I can't (without lying) because I don't really have a way to exercise. I suppose I don't really need support or advice, although advice on what to do about the impending end of semester would be nice...

As I mentioned earlier in a thread questioning the favorite pony of this forum, Rainbow Dash was at the top, last year before Season 2. It seems due to the recent defamation nastiness of her character, her ratings dropped a bit. Fluttershy is still second place and Twilight rose from being 5th to 1st surprisingly. Perhaps, it is due to Season 2 not showing her in every episode. Also, Applejack has dropped even lower. Maybe because of the fact that she is still unfortunately "bland." She is even lower than "Other" (wtf) and Luna, who basically appeared in 1 freakin' episode (she is still awesome though, but she is not even part of the Mane6...) Anyways, that is my take on this. What do yall think? Discuss.

Diglet, the mole pokemon... Or so it would have you believe. This certian "pokemon" if you can even call it that has a seceret that it refuses to reveal to the world. It looks 1'04 feet tall but in reality it is really inaccurate. It turns out that diglet is really a buff man who is embarassed by his disfigure so he hides his body and took up the the title of the mole pokemon. It is a front to make everypony believe what they were told by the pokedex. This will keep them believeing the fallicies of judgement givien by the pokemon association. You remeber its voice when it moves around "Diglet dig diglet dig" That is the sound of its tone muscles contracting and expanding while it swims underground. No you didn't read it wrong yes The Great and Powerful Aloe did say swim not dig. It is just that strong it swims through solid ground like it was some feeble liquid that you drink to quench thrist and take a dip in to relax and clense the body and mind. This explains why it learns moves such as Sucker Punch,Slash,Hone Claws,Shadow Claw and Rock Smash. This proves that not only does it have hands, it is strong enough to move them in and out of the dround at a speed faster than the pony eye can percive. Then we have its evolution, Dugtrio. His story isn't for the feint of heart so you may not read it if you don't want to. The Great and Powerful Aloe shall look into more facts that are less Shippy on Dugtrio.
