Made changes to the following Bosses. Thanks to Video for helping me come up with ideas for Derpy!

 

COMPANION BOSSES

  • Added Octavia and Vinyl Scratch as a Companion Boss (redone DJ Pinkie duo). [7-15-13]
  • When two or more players have an equal amount of points, VSP will force a Companion Boss. [7-07-13]
  • Players who are Companion to a Companion Boss will have half of their queue points returned. [7-07-13]
  • Normal players can no longer select Companion Bosses. [7-07-13]
  • Donors can select Companion Bosses as a donor perk. [7-07-13]

 

MECHANICS

  • When a Boss falls into a pit (such as the one in Arena_Nucleus), it will automatically be teleported to Blu spawn. [7-15-13]
  • Bosses who fall into pits will lose some health and be briefly stunned upon being teleported. [7-15-13]

 

Derpy

Stuns Sentries (8 seconds).

Slows Player Movement (3 seconds).

Blinds Players (10 seconds of distorted Derpy vision).

Players explode into a pile of drifting letters upon death.

 

Essentially she has a "soft" stun at the start of her rage. She also distorts your screen slightly, although you can still see.

 

Pinkie Pie

Spawns clones from dead players in equal amount to living players.

Spams "fun fun fun" sound file when spawning clones instead of the old "hi".

Reduced overlay duration on final image from one second to .5 seconds.

Players explode into confetti upon death, get orbiting balloons during rage.

 

DJ Pon-3

Now uses a Saxxy for his weapon.

 

I'm about to add some of these as I type this. I'll also be updating the Boss Selection so that it pops up automatically like before (thanks Friagram)!

Octavia and Vinyl Scratch

Octavia is now a Companion Boss accompanied by Vinyl Scratch (shadeless version of DJ Pon-3).

They're like the old DJ Pinkie duo (since people said they wanted that Boss back). Rages slow down/speed up time.

Octavia still has her old rage that punishes moving players in addition to her time Rage.

Vinyl Scratch now uses a Saxxy for his weapon.

Big Mac and Cheerilee

Big Mac is now a Companion Boss accompanied by Cheerilee.

Big Mac's gun Rage was removed (people complained that it was boring).

Big Mac's Super Jump was removed. He now has a 1.5 increase in normal jump height.

Big Mac can use ® to Charge with minimal expense of Rage. No charge impact on players; just charging.

Big Mac must take 1900 damage before his Rage Meter can be filled.

Big Mac's Rage grants him Knockback/Movement Immunity. Reduced damage from players (-35%) and Sentries (-50%).

Cheerilee's abilities include Super Jump and Weigh Down.

Cheerilee has increased Max Speed.

Cheerilee's Rage grants her Knockback/Movement Immunity and Bullet/Blast Immunity.

Both Bosses have unique Sounds for their Rages (taken from Hearts and Hooves Day).

Bosses get floaty hearts above their heads when they Rage.

Music replaced with The Perfect Stallion remixes:

Miscellany Boss Changes

Rainbow Dash bat damage reduced 1/2 following player feedback.

Molestia and Kinkie Pie cover players with Mad Milk when they Rage.

Derpy has a trail of stamp particles attached to her Postal Pummeler.

Replaced by normal Spy Watch (Spies with infinite Cloak unnecessarily prolonged rounds).

 

Spy Cicle

Replaced by normal Spy Knife (could be used to crash the server when a plugin wasn't working).

 

Boss Changes


Scootaloo Rage has been halved in duration.
Celestia Rage has been increased in duration by 2 seconds (12 total). Burn damage is now 150%.

Cadance and Shining Armor

Cadance now uses the Freedom Staff, which emanates Cloud9 hearts.

Shining Armor's Rage now grants both him and Cadance invulnerability to damage at the expense of being able to do damage.

Shining Armor's Rage no longer reflects damage (this is now exclusive to Trixie's rage).

 

Trixie

Now looks like she's channeling magic with the Disco Beatdown Unusual effect.

 

Pinkie

Now has the Purple Confetti Unusual effect.

 

Discord

Now has the Aces High Unusual effect.

 

DJ Pon-3

Rage has been increased by one second.

 

Sweetie Belle

Rage has been reduced by one second.

 

Twilight Sparkle

Chain Lightening is now activated using the ® key.

Now looks like she's channeling magic with the Power Surge Unusual effect.

Roboactive Unusual effect sparks from horn during Rage.

 

Luna

Weapon changed to the HHH Headtaker.

Now has the Community Sparkle Unusual effect.

Applejack

Become Ubered and knockbuck nearby players away from you.

Applejack can only buck players within her immediate proximity.

Players at a relative distance will be stunned, but not bucked.

Players who are far away will not be affected by knuckbuck or stun.

 

Twilight Sparkle

Instant Teleport upon Rage has been replaced by singularity.

Singularity will attempt to pull players towards Twilight Sparkle.

Can be used if properly positioned beneath or above Sentry nests to "pull" Engineers away.

 

Balloonicorn

This boss is Admin-only for now. It is intended to be a Donor boss.

Rage: Disable gravity for all players and instantly teleport. Stun players for 3 seconds. Stun Sentries for 8 seconds.

Charge Teleport and Bravejump.

No Weigh-Down.

All sounds are Demoman Taunt.

Rage (Invisibility) duration has been halved (now 6 seconds).

 

Twilight Sparkle

Rage (Singularity) intensity has been halved.

 

General Fixes

Bosses with Teleport abilities will no longer collide with map geometry or objects when teleporting onto a crouched player.

 

Death Run Fixes

Discord should now be the only playable Boss on Death Run maps. He has no music or Teleport abilities. NEEDS TO BE TESTED.

Updated to Versus Ponyville: Version 2.5 and made a long list of changes.

 

The Weapon Information article has been updated. I will post a summary of changes in this thread later.

 

Anti-Friendly Deterrent

Players must do at least 100 Damage to the Boss per round or they will incur a "Friendly" penalty.

The "Friendly" penalty is -10 Queue Points per round.

The maximum penalty amount that can be accrued is -40 Queue Points.

Players with maximum penalty amount will have one courtesy round to meet the damage quota.

Players who fail to meet the damage quota during their courtesy round will be forced to Spectate the next round.

Rounds must last for at least three minutes if a penalty is to be imposed on players.

 

Deathrun Discord

Always forced on Deathrun maps (cannot be selected normally).

Passively gains Rage during the round.

Does not have background music or sounds.

 

Deathrun Discord Rage

Speed up players for 3 seconds (similar to Vinyl Scratch).

Blind players in darkness for 10 seconds (similar to Luna -- will not work on some maps until I edit them to force Fog Controller).

Decrease Gravity for 3 seconds while changing the head scale of players (similar to normal Discord).

No other abilities (removed Super Jump, Neigh-Down, etc.).

 

Donor Boss Menu Changes

Donors can once again select Companion Bosses.

Donors can now select Donor-exclusive bosses, like Balloonicorn.

General VSP Changes

Crusader's Crossbow has been buffed slightly.

The first round of VSP on map change will default to a normal Arena Deathmatch so that Boss slots in queue are not wasted.

 

R-Dash 5000

Donor-only Boss

Melee swing speed is 50% of the normal speed of a Scout Bat.

Running speed is 3/4 of Scout's normal run speed.

Rage: Equip a Winger with Cow Mangler rounds that will seek out players.

50 rounds total. Heat seeking Velocity slightly exceeds Scout's running speed.

Fired rounds will remain stationary until players are within their line of sight.

Fired rounds can be reflected by Pyros back onto the Boss, inflicting damage.

Winger and melee weapon can be switched freely so long as it has rounds.

 

Applejack

Fixed issues with knockback. Now has increased knockback resistance which is separate from her Rage.

Postal Pummeler damage reduced slightly.

R-Dash 5000
Passive knockback resistence (1/2 of Applejack).
Melee weapon does increased damage to Buildings.

Judge Stallione (inspired by Judge Dredd)
Donor-only Boss

RAGE: Equip a Lawgiver (Reserve Shooter) with one of six different ammo types.
ABILITIES: Free switching between Melee and Lawgiver, Neigh-Down, Brave Jump.

Standard Execution: Bullets that will reduce player HP to 1.
Heat Seeker: Flare rounds that will lock on and follow players. Cannot be outrun by Scouts.
Ricochet: Bullets that will bounce off walls and players.
Incendiary: Bullets that will ignite players and burn them longer.
Armour Piercing: Bullets that will pierce through multiple targets and do increased damage to Buildings.
Hi-Ex: Bullets that will explode players on a timer.

Pyros can reflect Heat Seeker rounds back onto the Boss for increased damage.
Players marked by Hi-Ex will damage nearby teammates when they explode.
Players marked by Hi-Ex can damage the Boss by exploding near him.

made specifically for this Ponyville.net Boss, with improvements!
- Knees no longer "crunch up" when crouching.
- Improved shoulder movement.
- Eyes which will mimic tracking and move.

Versus Ponyville 2.6 released

Some updates to classes and weapons, along with the introduction of HHH!

 

Demoman's Horseless Headless Horseman's Headtaker

HHH Axe will gather heads on hit. Upon collecting 10 heads, players will become the HHH (complete with model)!

As HHH, players get 800+ additional health and inflict 2x more damage on the Boss.

As HHH, players will have 10 heads, which will tick down at the cost of one head per second. Heads can be regained for every hit on the Boss.

Once all heads have been depleted as HHH, players will change back into Demoman with full health, ammo, and shield restored.

 

* The amount of heads needed to become HHH is reduced to 5 on the Japanese server.

* Demoman class limit is temporarily disabled on the Dallas VSP Vanilla server for testing.

 

Demoman Shields and Sniper's Razorback

Both will now act as a shield to block one hit from the Boss. Upon blocking one hit, they will be destroyed.

Demomen can regenerate their shield after collecting a required number of heads.

 

Demoman's Eyelander

Shield will regenerate after collecting 10 heads.

 

Demoman's Nessie Nine Iron

Shield will regenerate after collecting 10 heads.

 

Demoman's Scotsman Skullcutter

Shield will regenerate after collecting 10 heads.

 

Demoman's Persian Persuader

Shield will regenerate after collecting 6 heads.

 

* These values are halved on the Japanese server.

 

Scout's Flying Guillotine

Flying Guillotine now turns Crits from fire damage into Mini-Crits.

Stats from the Genuine Flying Guillotine now apply to the regular Flying Guillotine. The Genuine now gets a cool particle effect.

 

Soldier's Market Gardener

Deals 390 damage on a Crit

Reduces Rocket Launcher ammo by 50%

 

Additional tweaks, changes, and additions for this update tentative.

 

Pinkamena Diane Pie

 

Melee

Moderate damage to players. Applies Bleed on players for every hit. Does increased damage to buildings.

 

Rage

Overlay blindness. Players will be blinded by the last image of the overlay sequence for one second.

Screen shake and knockback dealing flat around 50 flat damage. Players will be Marked for Death for 6 seconds.

Upon raging, Pinkamena will be given a Cupcake Loose Cannon, which can freely switch back and forth between her melee weapon.

 

Cupcake Cannon

Fire large cupcakes with minor explosion radius.

Players hit by cupcakes or caught in their explosion will have their health reduced to 1.

Cupcakes will kill players on next successive hit.

 

Discord

 

Death Props

Players killed by Discord will now drop one of five random props (Choo Choo Train, Archimedes, Cow, Frog, Eyeball) in varying sizes.

Ricochet

Initial Ricochet shot damage has been cut in half.

Nightmare Moon

 

Added for Halloween as a public Boss.

Obtains a pipebomb launcher that shoots pumpkins trailing purple flames at players (projectile type is cannonball).

Shrouds the map in darkness (similar to Princess Luna's Rage).

Boss model will become entirely black and semi-transparent to blend in with fog.

Boss can use Reload ® while facing a wall during Super Jump to "cling" in place for 3 seconds.

 

Eppaljeck

 

Added for Halloween as a Donor Boss.

Rage "disappears" players by turning them into floating pixels for 10 seconds. Players are stunned for 3 seconds.

Obtains a new wrench with every kill that incrementally increases in damage.

Super Jump is replaced with a charging Teleport that has a minimal cooldown.

Now applies looping tv static overlay on players during Rage.

 

Celestia

 

Flat damage upon rage reduced to 10.

Now gets an AoE of flames surrounding her during her Rage that does damage to players.

 

Cutie Mark Crusaders

 

Applebloom

Rage changed temporarily following Valve changes that broke building for Hales.

Equip a gold-infused Rescue Ranger that hurts connected players (such as Medics healing Heavies), turning them to Gold.

 

Scootaloo

Rage changed following player feedback.

Scootaloo can no longer fly through the air.

Scootaloo now receives a Sandman that launches 10 Stun Balls per Rage.

 

Sweetie Belle

Rage now locks players into a dance animation for 3 seconds while buffing CMC for 6 seconds.

Buff makes Sweetie Belle and her allies immune to criticals while granting 35% damage resistance and 50% sentry damage resistance.

 

Trixie

 

Now has the ability to shoot fireballs during her Rage while protected by her shield.

Duration of Rage is 10 seconds. Fireballs do 50 damage and ignite players for 5 seconds on hit.

Now applies magical overlay to players during Rage if they are within 1000 units of her.

 

R-Dash 5000

 

Rage now gives player a cool robotic overlay.

Passively shoots rockets where the player is looking for 10 seconds. Rockets do 10 damage.

 

Rarity

 

Invisibility now lasts for 3 seconds following player feedback.

 

Lyra

 

Bolts during Rage now leave behind a trail of sparkly yellow stars.

 

Pinkamena Diane Pie

 

Cupcakes fired from Cupcake Cannon now spin around and leave behind a trail of blood.

Players now explode into a stream of blood when they die.

Cupcake projectiles changed from Cannonball to Pipebomb following player feedback.

Players now have a chance to drop a friendly Medkit or a Pinkamena Cupcake on death.

Pinkamena can pick up Cupcakes left behind by dead players to regenerate Rage (currently broken, but will work in later update).

Spellbooks and Spell Magazines

Players can now equip a Spellbook or Spell Magazine in order to cast spells.

The recharge time between spells is 12 seconds. Spells are chosen at random.

Text on the bottom left of the screen will list the spell that you will cast next along with the amount of charges (uses).

 

Equipping a Spellbook or Spell Magazine will incur the following penalties:

  • Primary weapon disabled.
  • Max health reduced by 50 points.
  • Ammo that is picked up automatically gets converted to health.
  • Scouts cannot double jump.
  • Engineers are limited to 150 metal (so they can only construct Mini-Sentries).
  • Spies have their cloak meter consume rate increased.

Available spells and their included number of charges:

  • Fireball (2)
  • Bats (1)
  • Ubercharge (1)
  • Bomb (1) Disabled due to player complaints about friendly fire.
  • Super Jump (1)
  • Invisibility (1)
  • Teleport (1) Disabled due to exploitability.
  • Orb (1) Disabled due to player complaints about knockback.
  • Tiny (1) Disabled due to exploitability.
  • Monoculus (1)
  • Meteor Shower (1)

Realistic suggestions for tweaking these values (such as spell charges, recharge time, etc.) should be posted in the suggestions thread.

  • Unicorn and Alicorn Bosses now Silence magic users (Spell Magazine/Spellbook) for 10 seconds when they Rage.
  • Lauren Faust and Surprise Bosses added for Christmas.
  • All Donor Bosses are free to use for December. Donors will also receive one month of complimentary Donor time.

Rescue Ranger magazine reduced from 10 shots to 5.

Rescue Ranger does more damage to buildings and less to players.

Spellbooks, Spell Magazines, and Freedom Staff

Spellbook now shows a menu of available spells and charges on the left side of your screen.

Spells can be switched to freely by pressing Reload ®.

Spells will keep unused charges until they reach the max allowed.

Freedom Staff now acts as a Spellbook for players who missed out on Halloween.

Racial Passives for Bosses

 

Alicorn - 10 second Silence to magic users. Default jump height increased by 0.75. Color-specific flaming hoofprints when walking.

Unicorn - 10 second Silence to magic users.

Pegasus - Default jump height increased by 1.5 (in comparison, MDW is 2.0)

Earth - Passive knockback resistence increased by 0.3 (in comparison, Applejack's is 0.5)

Improved cone of fire and increased rate of fire for Blutsauger.

Force of Nature now reduces Scout's movement speed.

Forces players in her immediate vicinity to hallucinate for 4 seconds.
Gains movement speed and swing speed bonus for 10 seconds
Gains infinite double jumps for 10 seconds
Takes 35% less damage (50% less from Sentry Guns) for 10 seconds
Shrinks players from three times their original size for 10 seconds
Forces players to taunt for 3 seconds
Grants players a random type of crit boost for 10 seconds

BBBFF Twily & BBBFF Shiny

Twilight Sparkle and Shining Armor Duo

 

Twily

Silence magic users for 5 seconds.

Summon a magical Huntsman with 4 arrows that release Ricochet upon landing.

 

Shiny

Silence magic users for 7 seconds.

Summon a magical shield in front of you that will stop all bullets, projectiles, and explosives from enemies for 7 seconds.

Shield damages enemy players who walk into it and protects allies who stand behind it. Twily's arrows can pass through the shield.

 

Dovashy (Donor Boss)

Shout "Fus Ro Yay" at players to send them flying across the map.

Players are Silenced and "scare" Stunned for 5 seconds (translates to about 3 seconds upon landing).

Obtain a Crusader's Crossbow with 5 heat-seeking arrows that "lock on" to the knee bones of enemy players.

Enemy players hit by arrows to their knees suffer a 40% reduction in move speed for 180 seconds.

Arrows summon a gust of cold wind and snow with every shot. Rage drenches map in cold fog.

 

Woona (Donor Boss)

Send players to the moon for 25 seconds.

Moon phase drenches the map in a haze of white fog while making the vision of players black and white.

While in moon phase, players can move around the map in three dimensions, as if there is little gravity.

While in moon phase, players slowly begin to suffocate, causing damage. This health is restored incrementally after the phase ends.

Woona can shoot one Space Core at players. The explosion of the space core will flag players to explode in three seconds.

Exploding players will cause damage to allies within their radius.

Pinkie Pie

Duration of Rage overlay has been reduced slightly.

Players hit by her frying pan will be forced to laugh if they are using the same weapon.

Players hit by her frying pan will be forced to laugh if it is a critical hit.

 

Clones

Players hit by a clone's frying pan will be forced to laugh if they are using the same weapon.

Players hit by a clone's frying pan will be forced to laugh if it is a critical hit.

Clone will be forced to laugh if it kills a player.

 

Pinkamena Diane Pie

Duration of Rage overlay has been reduced slightly.

 

Surprise

Rainbow hallucination effect now animates more slowly.

Players hit by her frying pan will be forced to laugh if they are using the same weapon.

Players hit by her frying pan will be forced to laugh if it is a critical hit.

 

Twily & Shiny (BBBFF)

Shiny no longer plays Twily's Rage sound when he Rages.

 

Derpy

Overlay has been changed into an extreme fisheye lens.

Displays "Banana" effect upon killing a player.

 

Molestia & Kinkie Pie

Displays "Banana" effect upon killing a player.

Displays effect of boxer shorts with hearts on them upon killing a player or Raging.

 

Mare-Do-Well

Becomes shrouded in a swirl of blue smoke upon becoming Ubered to better distinguish that state.

 

Trixie

Shooting star effect during Rage has been replaced by a sphere of blue sparkles that orbit around here.

 

Rainbow Dash

Rainbow trail effect during Rage now contains sparking rainbow stars instead of bubbles.

 

Luna

Becomes surrounded by trailing blue and white stars briefly at the start of her Rage.

Becomes surrounded by animated, squeaking bats trailing blue tracers briefly at the start of her Rage.

Displays floating stars effect upon killing a player.

Quadruped Pony Models

 

Miniature quadruped pony models have been added to all servers.

Donors and Admins can equip the models by typing /mm if they are on the Red team.

The models were created and animated by Friagram. They are currently exclusive to Ponyville.net and PoniPoniPoni.

Other Updates

 

We now have a European server based in Frankfurt, Germany. It is currently a duplicate of Versus Ponyville Funbox.

Celestia's particle effect trail has been removed due to complaints of lag.

Death Run now forces quaduped Pinkie Pie models on players (Pinkie Pie clones). Deathrun Twilight is also in the works.

They're currently exclusive to PoniPoniPoni and Ponyville.net... until unscrupulous communities inevitably steal them. :huh:
